Printworks Clothing Company offer a complete graphic art and pre-press service which can offer you a complete solution for your printing project. Our talented design team can give your business the right look and accurately reproduce your logo faithfully. You can choose to supply your own artwork to the Pre-Press team for the right advise and direction to successfully get your designs to print accurately.

ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS

There are 2 types of Graphic Programs available, Drawing Programs & Paint or Pixel Based Programs and before a graphic file format is requested, the type of image to be printed needs to be determined.

LINE ART

Examples of Drawing or Line Art Images -

Ideal format for these images are:- Freehand, Illustrator or Corel Draw.

DO NOT CONVERT TO EPS

These images will normally contain lettering, outlines & solid fill colours but can have halftones also. Any Lettering also needs to be converted to Curves or Paths.

COLOURS USED MUST BE SPOT COLOURS, NOT CMYK OR RGB. BEST TO USE PANTONE SPOT COLOURS.

DO NOT USE BITMAPS, OR JPEGS OR COLOUR TIFFS IN THESE FILES

PIXEL ART

Examples of Paint or Pixel Images -

IMAGE

Ideal format for these images are:- PhotoShop, Corel Paint, PaintShop.
Images from these programs can be saved as, Tiff (Best), bmp, or the Program’s original format, ie. PhotoShop is psd.

DO NOT CONVERT FILE TO CMYK.

Line art images can come from these programs but image must be at least 600 dpi or higher at close to the size of print required. This makes the file size very large.

JPEG images are generally of poor quality & should not be used. They are designed for the Internet & not for print reproduction.
